INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine is proud to announce its partnership with the nonprofit National Association of Medical Minority Educators, Inc. (NAMME).
Established in 1975 to address the shortage of minority healthcare providers, NAMME now includes members from 12 different health profession disciplines, including allied and public health, chiropractic medicine, nursing, and optometry. The organization is dedicated to building lasting partnerships and programs among stakeholders that are involved in providing access to healthcare training for underrepresented racial and ethnic populations.
NAMME believes its efforts will lead to better academic preparation and access for groups historically underrepresented in health professions. It also anticipates that its work will contribute to the reduction of health disparities and improved health outcomes for underserved populations.
