Pamela W. Arnold

President of the American Institute for Managing Diversity, Inc. (AIMD)

Pamela serves as President of the American Institute for Managing Diversity, Inc. (AIMD), a national nonprofit diversity think tank based in Atlanta, Georgia.  AIMD’s mission is to advance diversity thought leadership and help build diversity capable organizations, communities and individuals. AIMD conducts research, education and public outreach programs on the issue of diversity and is in the 26th year of serving national and global communities in the areas of strategic diversity management. Ms. Arnold is responsible for managing and directing the operations, fundraising and administration of the organization, including its various research, education and public outreach programs.

Prior to joining AIMD, Ms Arnold spent 30 years in the corporate environment as an HR Operations and Customer Service executive and community advocate working in leadership positions with Bank of America, Hewitt Associates, Inc., and The Home Depot.  As a Senior Vice President with the Bank of America, Ms. Arnold’s responsibilities were national in scope and focused on wealth management, operations, customer service and diversity management.  Ms. Arnold’s next leadership role was with Hewitt Associates Inc., a world leader in benefits administration and HR outsourcing, at the levels of Director and Principal. Ms Arnold was responsible for the firm’s retirement recordkeeping plans, benefits administration, diversity advisory and customer service delivery.  With The Home Depot, Pam's leadership responsibilities included managing the US and International HR transaction teams for the Home Depot associate population.

In addition to the corporate and diversity experience, Ms. Arnold has served the community through active participation in the Atlanta Diversity Managers Affinity Group, United Way, and Dress for Success and the United Negro College Fund capital campaigns. She has served as mentor for over 20 years working with students in the Inroads, Urban League and Girls, Inc. programs.  Additional community involvement included consulting with the Atlanta Public School system and working with the inner city high schools and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on the Small Schools Model.

Ms. Arnold has been recognized as Woman of the Year by the YWCA and received The Crystal Hand Grenade Leadership award from Bank of America and The Homer Award for excellent customer service from The Home Depot.
