Kennedy D. Wells

Director of Membership Services for the Black Coaches and Administrators

Kennedy D. Wells became the Director of Membership Services for the Black Coaches and Administrators (BCA) in May, 2006.  As the Director of Membership Services, Kennedy is responsible for serving as the primary contact for the current membership of the BCA as well as coordinating efforts to grow the membership.  In addition to coordinating the BCA’s Annual Convention and Expo registration process and facilitating all aspects of the annual FREE Youth Sports Development Clinic. 

Kennedy received a bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1995 from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in Richmond, Kentucky.  In May, 2006 EKU awarded him a Master of Science degree in Sports Management/Kinesiology.

Kennedy previously was employed with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Commerce Cabinet Kentucky Sports Authority as a Sports Marketing Associate.  Prior to joining the Kentucky Sports Authority, Kennedy was employed by the Kroger Company for 11 years in a variety of management roles at the district management and store management levels.

Kennedy has participated in numerous charitable organizations including:  Habitat for Humanity, YMCA Black Achievers, the American Heart Association, Lemonade Day Indianapolis, and the National Football Foundation Central Indiana Chapter (Scholarship Committee).  Kennedy also has provided volunteer support to the Dayspring Center, Indiana Sports Corporation, the National Kidney Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Bluegrass State Games, the Coca-Cola ® Circle City Classic, USA Football, and serves as a Youth Basketball Coach.  Kennedy currently serves on the NFL Fitness & Football Committee for the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee.  Kennedy is also an Assistant Coach with the new American Basketball Association Indianapolis Drive franchise.

In September, 2008, Kennedy was appointed Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the BCA in addition to his continued role as Director of Membership.

A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Kennedy is married to the former Denise Campbell.  They have two daughters.  Kennedy enjoys church activities, sports, traveling, and reading.
