Delta, Saudi Arabian Airlines Deny Accusations of Discrimination

Criticism of an alliance between Delta Air Lines and Saudi Arabian Airlines exploded on the Internet on June 24 after a story published online alleged that Jews won't be allowed on flights to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi airline announced earlier this year that it is joining the worldwide SkyTeam alliance, of which Delta is a member, next year. Anyone who flies to Saudi Arabia must be granted a visa by the Islamic nation, and some stories have suggested that anyone who is Jewish or has an Israeli stamp in their passport would be denied entry. Both Delta and Saudi representatives have denied the claims, although a spokesman for the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington, D.C., said that anyone with an Israeli passport will not be granted a visa to the country.
