Louisiana Bank VP Files Discrimination Suit

Karen Hail, a Lafayette, LA businesswoman, filed a federal lawsuit against MidSouth Bank and its holding company on May 9 alleging sexual discrimination and violations of the Family Medical Leave Act. Hail had been with MidSouth since 1984, serving as an executive vice president, senior executive vice president, chief operating officer and member of its board of directors. In October 2009, Hail applied for leave under the Family Medical Leave Act, but, according to the lawsuit, she was placed on administrative leave before her medical paperwork was completed.
