Purdue Study Finds More Religious Diversity in America

A study by Purdue University researchers finds that while the diversity of religious beliefs in the country is increasing, the belief America is a Christian nation has become more prevalent. A possible reason, according to the researchers, is that the Sept. 11 attacks and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have boldened the connection between Christianity and American identity by reinforcing boundaries against non-Christians and people of foreign origin.
