Ousted Reporter Sues Miami TV Station for Age Discrimination |
Jurors will decide whether WSVN-Fox 7 in Miami fired its healthcare reporter Marilyn Mitzel in December 2005 because top management thought she was too old to be on the air. The case is being heard this week before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Maxine Cohen Lando. Mitzel, now 56, sued Sunbeam Television Corp., the owner of Channel 7, alleging age discrimination, in 2007, after filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
