Purdue University Has Room For Diversity Improvement

Increasing scholarships and academic programs for minority students at Purdue University could be part of a plan to boost diversity on campus. Christine Taylor, the university's first vice provost for diversity and inclusion, released a report recently that details where Purdue stands in its diversity of students, faculty and staff and how it can make improvements. According to the report, 4.1% of Purdue's undergraduate and graduate student population is black. That's half of the state's black percentage and a third of the U.S. black percentage. By gender, 42% of Purdue students are women compared with 51% of the general population. Click here to read more.
