TBS Becomes the Home of Minority-Driven Comedies

In the 1970s there was “Good Times” and “What’s Happening,” in the 1980s there was “The Cosby Show,” and in the 1990’s there was the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Minority-driven comedies have been the norm on TV for over three decades, but they are in short supply on networks today. Diversity seems to have hit a wall in comedy, but the basic cable network TBS is doing its part to change things by broadcasting a block of minority-oriented programming that sits virtually unopposed.
