Connecticut Woman Believes She Was Fired For Being High Cancer Risk

Can a person be fired for being at a high risk for cancer? Pamela Fink claims that Stamford, Connecticut-based MXenergy ultimately terminated her after she had tested positive for the BRCA2 gene, which can increase one's risk for breast cancer. Last August, Fink reportedly received a glowing performance review, during which she was praised for her strong work ethic, positive attitude and other attributes. Yet, within months of that review, many of her responsibilities were shifted to someone else. Her employers began criticizing her work and, in January, she received a scathing performance review.
