Controversy Brews Over Diversity Policy at a North Carolina School District

The Wake County, North Carolina school system is moving away from a policy of busing children to schools outside their neighborhood to achieve diversity. The board that governs schools in Raleigh voted 5-4 last week in favor of a resolution to begin moving away from the diversity policy toward a new model that would give parents choices while keeping their children close to home.
