Poll: New Jersey Residents View State's Increasing Diversity as a Positive |
A new poll finds New Jersey is getting more diverse ethnically — and an increasing number of people think that's not such a bad thing. The Monmouth University/NJ Press poll shows half of those surveyed say diversity is good for the state's quality of life. That's 7 points higher than in December 2010. The number of people who said they have a negative view of diversity fell from 16 percent to 8 percent. The poll found 31 percent of whites felt relations between races were excellent, while only 17 percent of minorities felt that way. About half of both groups considered race relations good.
