Comfort Suites Hotel Chain Loses Discrimination Suit

The Comfort Suites hotel chain has been ordered to pay more than $130,000 to settle a disability lawsuit filed by a former employee who suffered from Autism. Tarsadia Hotels, doing business as Comfort Suites, must pay a hotel clerk $125,000 after they denied him reasonable accommodations and eventually fired him. Shortly after he was hired at the Comfort Suites Mission Valley Hotel, he sought free job coaching services from the state, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Before starting work at Comfort Suites, the clerk had experience working at another hotel and received good recommendations from his previous employer, the EEOC said. Click here to read more.
